During the South by Southwest Tech Style NYC event, I was able to chat with the C.E.O. of RestoPresto, Candi Obrentz. The company has recently launched a unique travel pouch that has so many functions I almost lost track. Obrentz is a New Yorker, and you wouldn’t believe where she got the idea for Resto, blanket-less in Central Park.
Like most of us, Obrentz sat on what she had on, her jacket. She looked through many different retailers searching for a product that was A, portable, and B, affordable. She never found one. After she realized she had just ruined her jacket by grass stains, she had that eureka moment all entrepreneurs experience. (Eureka is latin for ” I GOT IT!”)
She created her pouch, which could be used as a blanket for grass, a yoga mat, a throw, in case you get chilly on your flight, and more. We think it’s super next level. It is great to find local New Yorkers who are changing the game when it comes to simplicity.
