It’s holiday time! Most favorite time of the year! Remember to be grateful for the thoughts that others had to give, no matter what the gift might be! This time of the year is very stressful. We are always concerned with buying just the right present, making sure the food is right and that everything is right just to create the prefect holiday.
Being grateful is acknowledging that we are blessed to have good things in our lives. Every individual has to define their own good things, but I believe the more gratitude we perceive, the better our lives are. Sometimes people have a hard time finding things to be grateful for, but they are all around us!
Having an attitude of gratitude makes all the difference in our lives. It is also important to remember to show the people we are grateful for how much they mean to us, and the holidays are the perfect time to tell our love ones how much we value them.
There are many ways you can show your appreciation. This time of year, a party or celebration is a great idea. Be sure to include family and friends on the invitation as a way to show you appreciate them sacrificing precious time with their other family member’s too.
Another ideal is to do things that take time, but it does not cost anything. Such as hand craft things. Remember sometimes the smallest things means the most. It mean that you actually put some thought into what it is that you made instead of taking the simple way out by doing something so easy and quick, that doesn’t take no time or effort to just simply give money and send them off like now you’re on your own. That’s is as simple as oh, “I forgot about John/Jane Doe” I will just give him/her some money. Simple quick fix but no time or extra thought was needed.
On the other hand everyone does not have the same amount of abundance budget to purchase gifts or do things for others. If you don’t get a gift from someone, don’t take it personal. It could mean that they did not have it to give. That enough is a self-pride killer and embarrassment within itself; no need to remind them by throwing it in their face or sending indirect messages. Believe that if they could have, they would have. So if they simply show up with their gift of love be sure to give love back with no hesitation, just as they came in the door with the biggest material gift. Now that’s one way to show gratitude!
If you are struggling to find things to be grateful for, try keeping a list of five things you are grateful for every day for two weeks without repeating anything. Having to look for things to be grateful for every day works incredibly well.
Now go out and make sure you are acknowledging the things you are grateful for, and be sure to use this holiday season to tell each person you love how much you appreciate him or her. Increasing your perception of gratefulness will really help you do this.
