As a busy mom and woman in her late 20’s, I’m no spring chicken. My weight is always fluctuating, especially after the birth of our son. My family always comes first and I fall into the picture somehow. However, I too need to be healthy since I’m the home engineer without me things won’t function.
Drinking smoothies allow me to consume the daily recommendations of fruit and vegetables I need. Blending a few servings of each helps to ensure that your vessel receives its daily nutritional needs. Not to mention smoothies are delicious!!! Easy to make and the cleanup is a breeze. Even our little guy loves drinking smoothies especially when he is teething. The possibilities are endless and the benefits are timeless.
Make your smoothie as nutrient dense as you would like by adding more greens than fruits or adding nuts and oatmeal. If your child (including your partner) is a picky eater, smoothies are a great way to sneak in veggies. For example, spinach and/or kale, pineapple, and strawberry make an amazing mix.
Improve your digestion! No one enjoys being constipated or indigestion. Let your blender “chew” your food. By drinking a liquid system it’s easier for your body to absorb the nutrients faster, especially the fiber causing you to become regular. Watch the pounds melt away while you feel energized and light. You have never prepared a meal so fast…
“Breakfast will be ready in 5 minutes!!” ….(literally)
Wash and peel all of the fruits and vegetables
Add the orange juice to the blender followed by the fruits, veggies, and chia seeds.
Add a handful of ice and blend on high speed.
Pour and serve immediately. Enjoy skinny mini!
