Today, Bold TV was at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) held in National Harbor, Maryland, where Vice President Mike Pence spoke this morning, focusing on the progress in America today, and the achievements of the current administration. Patrice Onwuka from Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) spoke to Bold Founder Carrie Sheffield live from the event to give her thoughts on CPAC so far and what’s to come.
Onwuka heard the VP’s comments on President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress, most prominently their success with criminal justice reform. Pence touched on the sanctity of life and the importance of protecting life in the country; he also said our current economy is successful and discussed how Americans are benefitting from it.
The conversation turned to the current Democratic front runners for 2020: Senator Bernie Sanders and former Vice President Joe Biden, as Biden is highest in the current polls. “Biden represents middle class America, the forgotten workers. He also represents a continuation of Obama’s legacy,” Onwuka said.
CPAC attracts a wide audience each year. “You have young folks in their MAGA hats, and middle-aged older folks, who are patriots, who just love America,” said Onwuka.
President Trump is scheduled to speak tomorrow, where he will no doubt be welcomed. This is a dramatic comparison to CPAC 2016, when Trump pulled out due to lack of support. This year he is likely to mention the border, the economy, North Korea relations and no doubt Michael Cohen’s testimony.
Dee Dee Bass also represented Bold at CPAC. She sat down with black conservatives to discuss media bias and the need to be more active politically.
