Thirty-seven states have voted to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment since 1972, leaving only one more approval before the amendment is made to the U.S. Constitution. Inez Stepman, Senior Policy Analyst at Independent Women’s Forum, doesn’t agree with many aspects of the amendment, but recognizes that the fight isn’t over.
Stepman told Bold TV, “There will be a legal battle even if this thirty eight state threshold is met, and then on top of that Congress will have to re-ratify.” She continued, “This is the beginning of a long battle. This is not going to be the end.”
