Here’s a fun fact: “Fifty Shades of Grey” is an Oscar-nominated film.
The film, based on the erotic romance novel by E.L. James, got a Best Song nomination for “Earned It.” But Oscar buzz aside, it looks as if “Fifty Shades” star Dakota Johnson is having a lot more fun in her next movie, “How to Be Single,” which is slated to hit theaters Valentine’s Day weekend.
In the trailer, Johnson is taken under Rebel Wilson’s wing to learn “How to Be Single” and enjoy life in New York City. The romantic comedy seems to be following in the steps of last year’s “Trainwreck,” “Pitch Perfect 2” and “Sisters,” all of which starred women who got to be funny, raunchy and multi-faceted.
2015 was a great year for women in film, so let’s hope “Single” is a sign that 2016 will be even better.

Paradox blog began as a way to give voice to those whose thoughts and ideas don't fit neatly into narrative. The misfits, the "in-betweens," the people who come under fire from every political front. We think a dose of sincerity goes further than all the hot takes in the world. We are a space where ideas can breathe, take on nuance, contain multitudes. http://theparadoxproject.org/about/
