“A white man in America doesn’t die for selling cigarettes on the street corner; gets a ticket. A white man in America doesn’t die for having a broken tail light; He gets a ticket.” A person of color gets a busted tail light and gets pulled over; He gets shot dead out of fear that police officer thinks that the person of color will kill him.”
“Black Lives Matter is not about white people. It does not exclude white people. It does not accuse white people, unless you are a specific white person who perpetrates, endorses, or ignores violence against black people. If you are one of those people, then somebody had better be saying something to you.”
Nicholas Clements-Lindsey graduated with honors from Texas Christian University and is currently studying fashion design at Otis College of Art and Design. Between studies in 2009, Nicholas led a public relations campaign for Micha Design and Patricia Underwood while debuting his eponymous line 'NICHOLAS LINDSEY' presentation for Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week and SMASHBOX Los Angeles Fashion Week as the youngest Black American designer to present in both shows. During those campaigns, Essence Magazine described Nicholas as "The new determined designer to watch in 2009/2010." and Examiner.com listed him as the "Hot new designer and social media up and comer." Nicholas credits have also been placed in Italian Vogue, Self Magazine, Essence, Black Enterprise, 944, and Indulge. As a multiculturalist, Nicholas lived in Germany, Italy and Texas.
Nicholas is also an avid clarinet performer and opera countertenor singer; having performed with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony, Metropolitan Winds, Orchestra of the Pines, Turtle Creek Chorale, and Dallas Symphony Chorus. He's a culinary guy that is in love with Asian fusion cuisine, a travel nerd, and when not wired on social media and designing for his clients, he's with his partner-in-crime, Buster the Dachshund.
