Ralph Lauren, known for his sophisticated and Americana sense of style has taken the runway by storm and brought the audience into a new level of New York modern day, old-world English style elegance, accompanied by one of his muses, actress Sienna Miller. The Fall 2016 show opened with a complete development of beige-tone neutral looks with high waist tailored wide leg pants and muted colored sweaters and turtle necks.
Ralph Lauren was quoted saying:
”For my Fall 2016 Women’s Collection, I was inspired by a woman who dares to be herself.” – RL
Throughout the development of the collection Lauren brings in a new style of his signature riding English country side game filled with double breasted jackets and long twill coats. Lauren is noted to use muted colored fringe on jackets, sweaters, pants, and high riding boots along with his love for southwestern style to be included in parts of his collections.
The collection gets more interesting through out his black color blocking section when he showcased his Elizabethan/Toulouse style idea, with eight buttoned black double breasted jackets with high bow collars and billowing ruffled collars on dresses. Karlie Kloss is one of the models using her signature “European Stomp” down the runway wearing Lauren’s black velvet ruched dress with the white collar mentioned above.
Towards the end of the collection, Lauren wanted to offer us his simplistic style of elegance by showing variations of the ruching on black dresses and fringed skirts with a peek of red. Along showing a little skin with long skirts and halter top separates. This is one of Lauren’s last collections, post his retirement announcement as the CEO of the Ralph Lauren Company. Which he started many years ago as a man, making ties for other gentlemen. Fast forward to today, Lauren is bringing a beautiful fantasy that defined the ‘Americana lifestyle’ that are speckled inside of our homes today. A period of definite class and beauty.
