T-Mobile is expanding its network. As a part of the company’s fourth quarter earnings release, T-Mobile announced the its 4G LTE network is now able to reach 305 million people across the United States. The company, which now boasts about its 63 million customer base, plans to expand its coverage to include more areas in 2016. In addition to its 4G network growth, T-Mobile boosted its download speeds for customers to 21.7 Mbps, fast enough to stream music and movies to a phone or device in less than a minute.
As a part of its marketing reach T-Mobile has been working to reach millennials and social media savvy consumers.
T-Mobile CEO John Legere tweets with customers on Twitter and constantly updates his Instagram account with new photos and quick videos. Legere often visits T-Mobile stores, interviews with media and makes himself accessible for marketing exposure for the phone’s brand. In a recent tweet Legere addressed the company’s progress.
“While the carriers have been creating crazy promotions, @TMobile has held strong and has been taking their customers,” Legere tweeted. “It’s almost not even news anymore. 2 yrs in a row w/ 8.3M new @TMobile customers! That’s 23k people, EVERY DAY!”
Legere has 2.13 million followers on Twitter. He often compares the T-Mobile brand to competitors and slams them for not offering the same deals.
