Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee expected he’d do well in Iowa in the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination but instead, he’s been edged out as the preferred candidate of devout Christians by Texas senator Ted Cruz.
It’s definitely gotten to the guy as he’s already lashed out at his fellow Religious Right activists, essentially accusing them of running a giant scam.
Huckabee took his disappointment and anger to a new level in a new ad which features a cover of singer Adele’s famous song “Hello” with an accompanying video that seems to imply that the former 2008 winner of the Iowa caucus is working himself to the bone trying to get the votes of ungrateful Hawkeyes.
“I got frostbite and gangrene,” the female cover singer says at one point, clearly trying for some sort of black humor.
