There are a lot of stars flooding our Twitter feeds right now because we can’t stop talking about them. There are the pop culture icons of all time and this list is sure to be in that hall of fame too, but there are certain things that many of us are obsessing over right now.
We’ve welcomed these people into our homes, whether it’s through their music or the characters they have created. We feel close to them and can’t wait till we see them again. These icons are talked about and tweeted about for various reasons. They are either doing big things in their industry or we just love them so much we can’t stop talking about them.
Here are the pop culture icons we just can’t get enough of at the moment.

Shonda Rhimes is one of the top showrunners on TV right now and not just because she’s about to have four shows on primetime. (That’s right, she has a new show, ‘The Catch’, premiering mid season.) The 45-year-old’s shows portray true diversity on TV and not many other shows can say that. Sure there’s TV shows that feature different ethnicities, but not many blend them together and Rhimes is tired of talking about diversity.
At the National Association of Broadcasters annual trade show she was reported saying: “In Shondaland, our shows look like how the world looks. Everyone can see themselves when they turn on the TV on Thursday nights on ABC.
“To me that was not some difficult brave special decision I made. It was a human one, because I am a human. It wasn’t something we had to bravely fight for, because ABC is also full of humans.”
She’s absolutely right, but it’s sad that we so rarely see this kind of diversity on TV or in films.
Adele, 27, took some time to live life, but now she’s back and breaking a lot of records. She broke N’SYNC’s record for most sold albums in one week, in only three days. The boy band sold 2,416,000, Adele sold over three million in one week. She also took the record away from Britney Spears, for best selling female artist in the first week. Both Spears and N’SYNC have held their titles since 2000 for “Oops I did it Again” and “No Strings Attached,” respectively.
And if that weren’t enough records to break, she became the first artist to sell over three million in one week and to have an album to sell a million two weeks in a row. Her US tour also sold out in under an hour.
After all of this, it should come to no surprise that Adele sold the most records in 2015, 8.1 million.
Jon Snow – Played by Kit Harrington

Between fans keeping an eye on the set of ‘Game of Thrones’ to see a glimpse of Kit Harrington, over-analyzing what castmates say in interviews (Did Natalie Dormer Finally Confirm Jon Snow Is Alive?) and over analyzing the season six promo poster, fans can’t accept that Jon Snow is dead.
It’s been months since the tragic scene and we’re still talking about it an obsessing over it. “Game of Thrones” was once again the most pirated show of 2015 and MTV named Jon the best character of 2015, out of 48.
How could producers take away the best character of 2015? In a show that makes a living off of shocking deaths, this is the most shocking to date and the most talked about.
Glenn Rhee – Played by Steven Yeun
When shows are as big as “Game of Thrones” and “The Walking Dead,” it seems that writers like to cruelly play with their fans a bit. After the writers of “GoT” may or may not have killed off a beloved character, “TWD” did the same thing.
In episode three of season six, Glenn fell to his death with walkers eating Nicholas’s body on top of him. There was no way he could survive through that, but there was no real confirmation and Yeun never showed up on “The Talking Dead.” Fans once again couldn’t accept that their beloved character was dead. The writers waited three whole episodes before letting fans know that he was alive.
Glenn was also a huge character in 2015 and was ninth on MTV’s Best Character list. ‘Dead’ was the second-most pirated show for 2015.

Adele may have taken the top spot for most albums sold, but Taylor Swift had the second-most albums sold two years in a row. She also has the most sold out tours ever, 16. The 26-year-old artist also was the top-grossing touring artist of 2015.
If you attended her concert, it’s easy to see why. With the most celebrity cameos ever seen at a concert and just a stellar tour on its own, Swift rocked 2015.
When she’s not selling out stadiums, she’s engaging with fans on social media. She defends her fans when they’re being bullied online, she wishes them happy birthday and gives them great shout-outs.
That’s not all. During her tour she gave an incredible inspirational speech about not comparing yourself to other people, especially to what they are posting on social media. She rose the crowd up by first telling them what they “are not” and then what they are. In the age of social media giving us a skewed look on what life looks like, it is incredible for her to remind her fans to be who they are and love who they are.
Swift also just won two People’s Choice Awards for Best Female Artist and Best Pop Album. I think it’s safe to say that Swift is the new Queen of Pop.
