Executive Director of the Centrist Project Nick Troiano and The Flip Side Founder Annafi Wahed joined us to discuss the virtue of moderation — how it helps us find common ground and realize that “no one has a monopoly on truth.” Annafi mentioned that, “it’s one thing to be separated by life experiences and geography, but it’s another thing to disagree on basic facts.”
This was a continuation of our Ben Franklin Circle segments; Ben Franklin Circles is a nationwide initiative led by 92Y, the Hoover Institution and Citizen University to bring people together to talk about shared values. Today’s virtue was “moderation” — Ben Franklin said, “Avoid extremes. Forbear representing injuries so much as you think they deserve.”
