Four-year degrees are now the norm for many young people. With the intensity of student debt and no job guarantees, is it worth it for everyone? Julie Gunlock from Independent Women’s Forum stopped by Bold Life to share her thoughts on possible alternatives. She emphasized the fact that “all work brings with it dignity,” so you don’t have to force yourself into a profession that requires a four-year degree. She told us:
“[There is] this sort of idea that to have a good life, you have to invest in these kinds of degrees. I don’t think it’s true — in fact I think it harms a lot of young people who would probably benefit from some jobs and a path that doesn’t require that much education.”
