Today I spoke with LaDonna Brave Bull Allard, a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota. We discussed the controversial construction of the North Dakota Access Pipeline and how it endangers water supplies and sacred tribal burial grounds.
Earlier this month, private security for the Dakota Access pipeline company unleashed dogs and pepper spray on the Native Americans protecting their land. Brave Bull Allard is in New York to speak at the United Nations Indigenous Elders Summit.
