Today is the first day of work for Leah LeVell at the Strategic Initiatives team of the Republican National Committee (RNC), NBCBLK reported. LeVell was brought on board to help the RNC engage with with historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and young black voters. LeVell will be working with Telly Lovelace, who serves as the RNC’s director of African American Initiatives and Urban Media.
LeVell, 21, belonged to an advisory board for presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump — National Diversity Coalition for Trump. The advisors of the board are Trump supporters who counsel Trump during his campaign. LeVell said her support for Trump stems from his position on national security, his desire to bring more jobs to the country, and his stance on student loan debt.
A senior advisor for Trump, Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault, gave a statement to NBCBLK regarding LeVell’s hiring, stating that LeVell will “play a key role in communicating the facts about Mr. Trump’s record and policy positions.” Manigault also added, “the addition of Leah LeVell to the RNC team shows how Republicans are unity to grow support for Donald Trump.”
