Spring is finally here, and we’re getting ready for summertime. It’s time to get rid of the dry skin and scalp that the harsh cold can cause. I love beauty and skin products, everything from your top name brands to home remedies, I have used a wide variety.
I’m writing today about a home remedy and another very inexpensive product that I came across a few years ago. No matter what skin type you are, I think we all at some point in the ever changing seasons deal with dry skin or other skin irritations.
It is so important to keep your skin healthy and your scalp clear, it not only makes you look and feel better, but a clear scalp makes your hair healthy and stronger as well.
Not sure about you, but I have my home remedy of vinegar and water mix by my shower side. Yes vinegar and water, it is a bit smelly but it is cool and relieving. I take a spray bottle mix of 1/4 of apple cider vinegar to 3/4 water, spray on your scalp while in the shower, leave it on for a few minutes and let the magic work. Then rinse, shampoo, and condition as usual.
If that doesn’t work, another “go to” for me is Seabreeze Astringent for skin and scalp. Ladies, it is amazing and not expensive at all. I buy mine at a local beauty supply. For that at-home professional scalp treatment feeling, it’s a must have. It gently removes dulling excess oils and dry scalp cuticle leaving your scalp feeling cool, clean, and refreshed.
An added bonus, since we are talking about getting ready for summertime, you can also use it as an all over astringent to help clear up other skin irritations, like on your shoulders and back. I get some clients in my salon chair who have long hair or bangs that sometimes cause skin irritations if you have really sensitive skin, so using an astringent will usually help.
Who wants to worry about their skin going into summertime and bathing suit season? Not me. Some of my favorite things about summer are less makeup, wearing a ponytail or hat, and sandals.
Of course, don’t forget to finish your skin remedies with your favorite moisturizer and make sure to have the SPF for the outdoors.
Whichever treatment you pick for your skin, let’s all get our clear and glowing skin on for the summer. We women always feel more confident with great looking skin. Find what works for you. Clean, protect, and pamper your skin, and scalp.
