The death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was announced last Saturday evening. It is reported that al-Baghdadi detonated his suicide vest, causing the tunnel that he was in to collapse. U.S. troops recovered sensitive intelligence, consisting of future plans that the Islamic State made, before fighter jets leveled the compound, located in the province of Idlib.
Former Turkish press officer Erbil Gunasti recently published a book titled Gamechanger: Trump Card: Turkey & Erdogan. He discusses how Muslim migration will change western civilization soon and how Trump and Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan need to work together in order to control it.
“My observation that in 2016 when [Trump] came to power, he knew it already, that Turkey was important and had to be involved with lots of leaders. But he couldn’t do that because of what we are doing here, domestically,” he said.
Gunasti shared that Turkey wants to clear the areas along its common borders with Syria and Iran. Most importantly, they want to expand the safe zone to Idlib. “To go into Syria and get Baghdadi out, could not have happened,” without the help of Turkey.
Also included in his book, Gunasti gives an analogy he calls the “Three Pillars.” “Turkey is shouldering two tables — one European table and one Middle Eastern table,” he explained. The European table consists of western Europe and Russia, and the Middle Eastern one consists of Syria and Iran.
Gunasti hopes that people, more specifically Americans, learn the importance of Turkey and its partnership with the United States. He told Bold TV, “The U.S. has to work with Turkey in order to continue to be the superpower that it is.”
