Behind every great president, there is a great chief of staff, and one expert on chiefs of staff says President Donald Trump needs a much stronger person to fill this role. This week on Bold TV author, documentary filmmaker and veteran journalist, Chris Whipple, sat down with Bookstr CEO, Sarah Hill and our hosts Carrie Sheffield and Clay Aiken. Watch here or on our Facebook page.
Chris’s new book, “The Gatekeepers: How the White House Chiefs of Staff Define Every Presidency,” tells the compelling stories of the men who have held the position that has been called “the second most powerful job in government.”
Through interviews conducted with all 17 living chiefs of staff, as well as two former presidents, Chris creates a compelling narrative that follows historical presidencies to present day. Among those mentioned are prominent political figures featured like former Chief of Staff and 46th Vice President, Dick Cheney whom Chris says was once very loved on Capitol Hill.
